Hello all of you wonderful people! It’s me. Jorel. Your go-to guy for all of the news about Bailey Day and her latest and greatest achievements. The Summer season is over, so we can finally say hello to the Halloween season! (I’m pretty sure this season has another name, but I can’t think of it right now). The air is getting chillier, the leaves are cascading off of all the trees, and for Bailey Day, it’s back to the old grind. School is in session! Right? Well, ...

Interview with the Author #1 standard

Welcome, everyone, to my first ever. . .drumroll please. . . (Drumroll) “Interview with the Author!” Bailey Day is hard at work on all of her stories, but contrary to popular belief, she does take the time to enjoy a book or two at her leisure. In this series, I’ll be collecting Day’s insights on all of the crazy books that she has been reading. If any books that we review sounds like an interesting read to you, we encourage you to read them yourselves! Today, I’ll be interviewing Day on a book that she read recently entitled Wandl the Invader, written by Ray Cummings. Got your popcorn? Got something to drink? Got a comfortable seat to sit in? Good! ...

I’m Back, Y’all! standard

Jorel here! Did you miss me? I don’t blame you! It’s been way too long since my last post, and you all are probably foaming at the mouth waiting for more news about Bailey Day’s ventures. Well, lucky for you, I have exactly what you need. You’re probably wondering… Where in the world was Bailey Day? Well, I’ll tell you! Day took a trip to the Grand Canyon state, Arizona! But she wasn’t there to visit the Grand Canyon. She was there to visit her beloved grandparents who she hadn’t seen in years! I went too, of course, but this is about Bailey Day, not me. I know what you’re thinking. Travelling to Arizona? During this crazy time in our ...

A New Project Begins! standard

Hello all you admirers of Bailey Day’s art! Remember me? It’s Jorel: Bailey Day’s biggest fan and the coolest older brother in the world! I’m here once again to blog about my favorite author. Let’s get right into it! Day’s first novel released a few years back, and I know that you all are just DYING to know what she’s been up to and when her next bestseller will be available on the shelves. Well don’t worry, it’s getting there. Every day she shuts herself in her room and types away furiously at her computer keyboard. If I’ve learned anything from my sister, it’s that the story-editing-process takes a loooooooooong time. Day won’t be deterred by that, however. She’s currently ...

Under New Management standard

What is up, Bailey Day fanatics? I’m here to tell you that from now on, you’ll be seeing more of me and less of Day. Who am I, you may ask? Well, my name is Jorel. I am Bailey Day’s brother, a passionate gamer, a wannabe composer/game developer, and (as far as I know) Day’s biggest fan! The overwhelming stress that Day has wracked upon herself from running this blog has put some serious strain on her. So, I volunteered to lift this burden off of her shoulders and place it immediately back down onto my own shoulders. Bailey Day has entrusted me with full access to her blog, leaving me to do whatever I want with it. ( hehehe ...

Your Query Letter, Tips and Tricks standard

Hey everyone! I know it has been FOREVER since I last blogged, which is totally my fault, and while this entry won’t be about any books, it’s been something on my mind. I’ve been querying a bunch of agents lately for my latest book (no spoilers about it yet!), which means I’ve been following a lot of them on Twitter. And I’ve been surprised with how many of them . . . complain about simple things in the query letters they are receiving that are simple to fix, or just not included in the first place. Every agent seems to have their own horror story about the worst query letter they have ever received, and trust me, you do NOT ...

For the next few weeks, I want you to ask questions to my characters! Did you read the book and ask “Hey Jake, what’s so scary about this Toy Master guy?”, now you can ask. Every question asked, I will answer the way my characters would do so if they were ...

Inktober – Week 3 standard

Day 15 – Legend To be quite honest, I don’t know if I’ve read the book The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. And if I don’t remember reading it, it doesn’t count if I ever did read it. It’s definitely on my to-read list now, which is already too long. Day 16 – Wild This one was inspired by some good, old-fashioned Scooby-Doo ploys. Though I know many cartoons have done it, and at this moment I can’t think of a specific Scooby-Doo that has this in it. But you know those shots where the characters are in the dark, and all you see are their eyes. Then suddenly another pair of eyes joins them. That’s the general ...
