Day 15 – Legend

Headless Horseman, just without the horse.

To be quite honest, I don’t know if I’ve read the book The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. And if I don’t remember reading it, it doesn’t count if I ever did read it. It’s definitely on my to-read list now, which is already too long.

Day 16 – Wild

Spooky

This one was inspired by some good, old-fashioned Scooby-Doo ploys. Though I know many cartoons have done it, and at this moment I can’t think of a specific Scooby-Doo that has this in it. But you know those shots where the characters are in the dark, and all you see are their eyes. Then suddenly another pair of eyes joins them. That’s the general idea of what inspired this. Also in some cartoons I’ve seen, they have the scary eyes peeking out from bushes in the woods. Which is definitely more of what this one is. I wish I could think of a specific example.

Day 17 – Ornament

Christmas in October anyone?

Who doesn’t like Christmas, right? And this is literally the only thing I could think of when I saw the word ‘Ornament.’

Day 18 – Misfit

Misfit toys are the best.

And then I continued with a Christmas theme! When I was searching Google images for toys that I was willing to draw from the popular kid’s movie, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, I realized that there’s been discussion after discussion about the Island of Misfit Toys. There have been complaints apparently; that Santa dejected these toys because they were different and how wrong that is. I even discovered that in the original movie, Santa doesn’t deliver the misfit toys to children. He just kind of leaves them hanging.

I guess people have complained about this part of the movie a lot, and about the whole movie in general. Rudolph becomes an outcast because his nose is red, and then they only turn to him when they really need him to guide Santa’s sleigh? And I guess people have a right to be upset. But I think the people who originally wrote Rudolph were trying to show that everyone is needed, even if they do something different. But who knows?

Day 19 – Sling

This is a bad idea.

This was probably the hardest prompt for me to come up with something thus far. Where this idea came from, I really can’t say. But I like the story I portrayed in this picture.

Day 20 – Tread

Stay together.

This was something quick. Again, I like the story I’m telling in this simple picture.

Day 21 – Treasure

Ever play Kid Icarus? Especially Kid Icarus Uprising? I was too lazy to draw Pit from the new game, but not this one enemy. I’ll just leave this link here so you know I’m not crazy for drawing this; http://www.kidicaruswiki.org/Mimicutie

See you soon.
